lt gaynor and his Fe2d planeAlbums which  belonged to a young Lieutenant John Shorter . He served with Essex Regiment and later Royal Flying Corps . He was killed in action 23.03.1918 while Flying his Sopwith camel over German lines . Albums contain some very nice photos of his training with the Essex and a few good photos of RFC planes .

photo HMS Courageous Royal Navy album ..which belonged to long serving Edwin Whittle who eventually rose to rank of Commodore . Album cover a period from late 1920s to 1950s . During the early 1930s he served on HMS Sussex , Mid 1930s served on the ill-fated aircraft carrier HMS .Courageous ( approx 25 photos of this ship and her planes / crashes ) .
 
During ww2 he was on HMS . Arethusa ..photos include 4 of severe damage caused to the ship after an Italian attack in the Med ..and a great photo of King George VI aboard HMS Arethusa 16th june 1944.
The album has many interesting photos including some taken in the workshops of Royal naval engineering college devonport .
