1st Battalion The East Surrey Regiment Photos ..Canal zone 1952-1954
Here I offer a cd containing over 200 high resolution scans produced from an original photo album which belonged to Lt. Barry A Biemans of 1st Bn The East Surrey Regiment . C Company Commander .For me the highlights include some nice images of Oxford and Bren carriers, Artillary , army trucks and jeeps . There are also some interesting photos of Trobuk ..still showing the scars from bomb damage during ww2.
Album starts in Tripoli , onwards to Trobuk , Derna , then move to Egypt ..where Lt. Biemans was C Coy com. at Tel-El-Kebir ..he then goes on to serve in Cyprus .
There are some good photos of camp life , anti tank positions , Bren carriers / Oxford carriers , trucks in the desert , troopships , transport planes etc ..an interesting collections of photos .
